About Ncheta

"Ncheta" means remember in Igbo — and that is our mission.

Ncheta magazine is a record of West African art curated by the people who live in it.

Ncheta: to remember, originates from the Igbo language. This editorial intends to make the documentation of West African art a standard practice across the region.

Our stories are written by people who interact with the art ecosystem first hand: artists, academics, curators, critics, gallerists, publicists and collectors.

Reportage at Ncheta Magazine spans across all countries within the West African region. Our readership is not paywalled and our editorial is independent.

We offer artists, galleries and institutions media representation services customised to suit their needs.

We curate the content we publish in accordance with our resolve to present art from West Africa, recorded for now and the future.
